Question
My employer/boyfriend at the time had me sign a lease saying i was leasing his home and the furniture in it was mine so that a collection attorney could not take his furniture in a judgement case against him. I never lived at the house and have never paid him rent. He had me send a copy to the attorney & now the attorney is trying to get me to pay him the rent he thinks I owe for the lease but am not and have ever paid. Did I commit fraud by signing this? I live in Ohio, could I go to jail for this?

Hello,
It appears that you did commit fraud. It would be the prosecutor's decision whether to prosecute. Typically you would not go to jail.
