Question

i REPLACED ECT SENSOR, MAF SENSOR, PLUGS, TUNE-UP AND CAR RAN GREAT FOR A FEW WEEKS.   i WAS TOING TO TAKE CAR TO GARAGE AND HAVE CODES DE-CODED DUE TO NEW PARTS AND BEFORE I COULD GET THERE THE CAR STARTED STALLING OUT ON ME.   IT STARTS RIGHT UP, WILL IDLE ALL DAY AND MIGHT DRIVE A BLOCK OR TWO AND THEN JUST QUIT ON ME.   I CAN GET IT STARTED AFTER A BIT AND IT WILL GO IN REVERSE WITHOUT CUTTING OUT BUT IF IN DRIVE, WILL CUT OUT

Hello,

I would be start by looking for any engine mount problems.
If it cuts out in forward gears but not in reverse the engine may be moving to far and pulling on a wiring harness. THis can result in poor or no connections.

You can also bring a scanner to your car.
A lot of places like Autozone wil loan them out for free.

The mechanic said they checked a few codes and the MAF Sensor code, ECT sensor code and Oxygen Sensor code were displayed.   HOW would I go about getting the brain to recognize these are new parts and not the old ones??

Answer

The computer does not care if they are old or new parts.
It is only concerned about the signals coming from them.

After the repairs have been made you will want to clear out the codes.
If you had a shop do the work they can clear the code. Other wise you can use a scan tool to read and clear the codes yourself.
Places like Autozone will loan them out if you leave a deposit.

If you do a lot of your own work you may consider puchasing a tool.
