The following site provides links to various free legal aid centers where you can consult with an attorney regarding taking your case pro bono, there are location in pomona and riverside, among others: http://www.usattorneylegalservices.com/free-legal-aid-california.html. If they cannot assist you then they should be able to point you to someone who can.
Some law schools also have free legal clinics that may be able to assist you such as UCLA (http://www.templeisaiah.com/sunday-free-legal-clinic ) and USC (http://law.usc.edu/academics/clinical/sbc.cfm)
Im not sure if you have filed suit yet, and in what court, but hearings usually occur after filing suit and usually relate to a motion that has been filed, i.e. a motion to dismiss, motin to compel documents, motion for summary judgment etc.. Hearings are not requested by filling out a form, but by requesting them in a motion before the court (either orally before the judge and/or in a written motion). In other words, the hearing must relate to a particular issue that is before the court in a motion. The court you file in will have a website with its own "local rules" and any forms that you need to follow, state court is very different from federal, an each court has its own local and judge-amde ruels so you have to go to the specific court's website AND also check on the website for your judge and and personal rules he/she has for her courtroom. best of luck
