Question

Six weeks ago I had knee replacement. Two days ago I fell and bumped my knee. Today my knee is hurting. How can I tell if I damaged/hurt my knee? I have continued with my exercises and appling ice pack on the knee. I am concerned I might have reinjured my knee. Should I see the doctor? or should just continue doing what I've doing? Please help!!!

Well, unfortunately, there really is no good way over the Internet to determine if you have injured your knee.

It's unlikely from just "bumping" your knee, but since you are so close to your surgery, it is impossible to say for sure -- certainly you will have some discomfort after injuring your knee, but the only way to determine if there is a problem with the prosthetic itself is to have your surgeon examine the knee and take xrays if necessary.

If you experience any trouble with walking/stability or have pain out of proportion to your injury, then seeing your doctor would be best.
