Hello carsman
This is quiet normal. After consuming food the blood rushes to stomach . With digestion our blood sugar levels rise .Your pancreas gets to work to produce and release more insulin into the body's blood stream. With more insulin in your blood stream, a protein-building block called tryptophan moves to the brain.Tryptophan is converted into serotonin in the brain.Serotonin makes you tired and makes you crave a nap.
You can avoid or reduce this by taking more veggies and protein in diet instead of carbohydrates.
If along with sleepiness you are having headaches or dizziness then you should see a doctor.
