Question

My name was added via quit claim deed to property my husband owned prior to our marriage (10 years). He recently applied for a new reduced mortgage rate and was accepted. However, only his name appears on the mortgage. Why would a bank consent to a mortgage in one name when two names are on the deed? Do I have ownership limitations because of the quit claim deed?

Answer

You are still an owner and this is good news. Better to be on title and not personally on the loan. His credit must have been enough for them.
