Info Request

Greetings.

Is the pain aggravated by the posture and back movements? Was an ultrasound done for the kidney stones? Do you have bloating, nausea, loss of appetite, constipation/diarrhea? Are you on any medications? Any significant past medical or surgical illness?

No,to the first part of your question. An ultrasound was done at the hospital for kidneys stones. i was in severe pain for almost 6 weeks,and then it went away. It came back when I hads my period. The pain is not as bad as it was the first time.The strange thing is that I can lay on my right side in bed, but when I lay on my left side it feels like something is being pulled on the right side. The pain feels like a tear indside,and other times it feels like a dull knife being poked at me. I do have bloating at times. I did have a pulmonary embloysim 2 years ago and spent 10 days in the hospital. I was on blood thinners for a year. They think the clots were due to me being on birth control for 8 months. I was put on them for my heavy periods. I am not on any medications.

Hello,

A pain related to the posture (coming and increasing on lying left side), would point towards musculoskeletal problems (muscles, ligaments, spine joints) then the visceral origin. The work up in your clinical manifestations are following;

1) MRI of the back

2) CT scan of the abdomen

3) A hormonal work up

This should give the insight for the cause. An orthopedist would be the specialist to consult initially.

Please feel free for your follow up questions.
