Unless they are 18, the child has no legal rights to decide when visitation can stop. Only by agreement of the parents or by court order can visitation stop. In Alabama a child who is considered "mature" to communicate with the court is given the opportunity to state a preference/make a wish to the court regarding visitation. Generally the court will take a teenagers preference into consideration but the court will consider the total reasons for why the request is being made, so the child's preference is only taken into consideration.
