Question

how do I remove the pressure plate bolts on a 2000 vw jetta tdi? I tried a 6mm 12 pt driver and it just slips. An 8mm is too big. I can't find a 7mm anywhere. will a torx work?

hi

the socket you need are called e-sockets.they are like a outside torx.you can buy a set at auto zone or any good parts store for around $12..the one you need is a e6 or e7

No, it definitely needs to be a male tool. the bolts are just like standard torx bolts except they have 12 points instead of six.

to get a 7mm 12pt you may ned to get it at sears,,these are reaally hard to find..craftman is bout the only ones that make them...i would try a torx if you have one handy..but may not stand the presure

if you dont have a torx that will fit...a allen wrench will also work,if it can stand the presure
