i have been suspended from work for allegations of poor patient handling. I need a rep to attend investigatory meeting with. mu union wont because i the case happened before I joined.

Already Tried:
spoken to my union and learned they cant represent me. all i have with me is a letter stating that there is an allegation against me, but does not say what I have done. the rest I was told verbally by the company's operations manager, who initially said she was not giong to suspend me but was going to put me under supervision. I dont know what happened, she later on suspended me.

am confused now, I thought I will have a legal advice. I dont know which step to take at the moment; to wait till am called for investgatory meeting or ask to recieve an explanation of suspension in writting?

I am sorry that you are confused. justanswer.com provides information--legal, medical, veterinarian, etc.--it does not provide you with legal representation in court or in a hearing. You will have to hire a local lawyer for representation in a local hearing. I am a licensed attorney in many states in the Midwest US; but you are in the UK and I am not an attorney in the UK.

You need to contact a lawyer in your area of the UK to determine if legal representation is necessary at this hearing. Asking to receive an explanation in writing is a good step. Another good step is to have the hearing postponed until you can hire legal representation. If the charges are serious, and they appear to be, then you may need representation to protect your legal rights. Since the union is not helping you, you will need to get help independently.
