I am using skype with vista on a sony vaio and the sound from the test call is breaking up. Firewall is turned off. What do you think it could be?

Already Tried:
Set skype as an exception in the firewall, then turned it off altogether, plugged in headphones (no mic), nothing seems to help.

hey check with all your sound settings if those r ok...??
it could also b some hardware problem...

so check it with a service xpert that will help you...

all the hardware works fine in all other applications

yes bt u said tht your sound breaks...

then check it out with the skype software...
reinstall it again...
then it would work properly...

if still the prob continues ..
then prob is related 2 the sound card..which might not b suppoting skype..

Re-installed Skype. Still not working.

so thats wat i am saying ....
the prob must b either in the soundcard which might b corrupted n not supporting skype perfectly or it must b network prob...

so check it out with an hardware xpert or in recomended service station...
