Question

I own a farm ($3mil)and House($500K) in my name only. I have 5 Limited Partnerships and an ABC living trust. Since this is our 2nd marriage we want to keep property separate for the sake of our childrens inheritance.I want my wife's name on these properties. Would this be better done by moving title to one of the LP's or to the living trust and why. Thanks

Answer

It appears from the information in your post that you should consider moving the property into your AB Trust. If you put property directly into your wife's name you may defeat the purpose of your estate plan to provide for your children as well as your wife.
