Optional Information

Delaware county, Delaware

Already Tried:
Filed a claim with labor board but got a copy of a letter starting it should be dismissed as I am convicted felong and don't have these decrimination civil rights and also that they don't have 15 employees, which is untrue.I am afraid they won't look into. This all started because I went to the boss, but do not think I would be protected under the whistleblower forum.

Do you have a contract with them? How many employees do you think they have?

I do not have any contact with them at all. They sent me mail to offer the 1,500 altho I was told by the guy I informed of what they wanted me to do,that I would not be fired and thanked me.This is in the letter to the board, that they sent. They threatened to get me put back in prison,I was put there for trading without a proper license.I was a frist time offender and went to boot camp for the most part and am on probation. They were so convincing to my probation,I was told not to have any communication with them,so I will not.I know of over twelve, but the brother that hired me passed away, and this is when all of this happened. He has many employees,so I don't know if that counts or not.I don't know. They have a lawyer in the business,as a partner....I was told I was fired, then not,and they just told me,they wanted me to know the "lay of the land" and I responded to the brother, that he is now the boss and that I know that.He told me I could keep the car I was given and then they took it back,on the pretense they needed to fix it.They have refused to give me back my laptop, which they say they returned. They have lied about my termination date and so forth.I am only trying to support my family and get to the truth,of which of have tapes to their conversation with me about what they wanted me to do,to play ball.

Answer

I am going to be honest here. You can be fired for any reason at all, so long as it is not an illegal reason, menaing that you cannot be fired due to discrimination against your sex, your age, your race, etc. It sounds to me like a multitude of things have happened here, but it also sounds like they could fire you at any time they like, so I do not think you have a case. They could have just stated that they hate you as a person and fired you. So unless you think this was discrimination (which does not apply to companies with less than 15 employees) then you should take the cash and get another job.
