Answer

Thanks for the question XXXXXXXXXX.

The active ingredients in A & D Ointment are lanolin, and petrolatum. The inactive ingredients are cod liver oil (contains vitamin A and vitamin D), fragrance, light mineral oil, microcrystalline wax, and paraffin.

None of these are likely to harm your dog if it swallowed a small amount.

However you would be wise to monitor your dog over the next few hours and if any symptoms develop you should call your vet without delay. I think this will be unlikely though.

If I have not covered your question fully enough or you would like to ask more I will be online for the next hour or so and I will be at your disposal.
