Question
the first day of my last period was 2/1/09. I started Jolessa on 2/2. I had not been on BC in years but my husband and I agreed on 2/14 to have a baby. I stopped taking Jolessa last night. How soon can I get pregnant :-)

Answer
Anytime you start or stop any type of hormonal birth control method, it takes 2-3 months for not only periods to return back to normal, but also fertility. It is recommended that you do not try to get pregnant until your cycles are completely back to normal. If your periods do not return by the 3rd month, you will need to see your doctor to have blood drawn to determine if a hormonal imbalance has occurred.

but doesn't my risk of pregnancy increase if I miss 2 or 3 pills in a row? Considering I have only been on it 2 weeks. I'm sorry, I'm just so excited he WANTS to start our family I want to do everything in my power to speed it up. I've been wanting children and was using family planning by tracking my menstruals as my method of birth control. I decided to go on Jolessa for the convenience of having less cycles. I had no idea he was going to surprise me with the news. I'm rambling, sorry
Accepted Answer
Missing pills can increase the risk, but typically it takes at least 2 months for cycles and ovulation to resume. It would be a rare occurrence for this to occur sooner than 2 months. It is best to wait until your cycles are back to normal, to ensure that your hormone levels are completely back to normal.

Answer
I might add on average it takes a couple up to a year to get pregnant. Typically a year or more of trying warrants both of you to see your doctors, and there is no quick way to make conception occur faster.
