Question

my family and i were looking for a house to rent. we went to a realtor who found us a house that was perfect so we put a application in and paid the application fee. The realtor that helped us wanted the security now we said no problem. the realtor contacted the listed realtor for the lease in which the listed realtor wasted time to giving us the lease so when our realtor ask the listed realtor again for the lease he stated that another offer was brought to the table with the same offer we put in. Our offered was first and we were waiting for the lease to sign. we were offered the house and it was took away. as a legal point of view what can we do?

Answer

I am afraid that until you sign the lease, the landlord can change his mind (as can you) and sign someone else, presumably for more rent.
