Hello XXXXXX,
The most common reason for blood in the urine is a simple bladder infection or slightly more complicated bladder stones.   Neither of these situations are immediately life threatening. I would recommend having the dog examined by your vet within a day or so. Bring in a fairly fresh urine sample to have a urinalysis completed. Treatment is normally antibiotics. If there are stones present (xrays may be needed) than they may need to be removed surgically or dissolved with a special diet.
If the urine is very dark or coffee colored, I would be more concerned than if it is bright red. If it has this appearance there may be a bleeding disorder and she should be seen sooner. Also, just to be safe, I would check her elsewhere for signs of bleeding. Make sure her gums are pink and that you don't see any signs of bruising or little pinpoint bruises that look like tiny dots covering the skin. If you seen any of these I would get her into the vet quickly.
If you need more information just reply to your question.
