Question

I paid a fine for a misdemeanor 25 years ago for altering my drivers lisence. got caught because i was stopped for a moving violation and gave the officer the altered lisence, dumb I know. I paid a fine and that was the end of it. On an application I am filling out it askes if I have ever been convicted of a misdemeanor. Is that yes since I did pay the fine which is the same as conviction?

Yes you should reveal it but of course the fact that it is 25 years old should be of comfort. You would not believe the number of people with such convictions. Yes paying the fine implies that you pled at least no contest which equates to a conviction.
