Answer

Thanks for the question.

You should be in good shape here. Arizona qualifies for a limited license recognition. There are a few requirements:

1. Be in good standing as a real estate salesperson in Arizona

2. Pass the state portion of the Colorado exam.

This is not for a Brokers license. So will I have to take the 120 hours of schooling recommed in Colorado? and if not will I only have to take the State portion? if so how do I find out the details. I was told since Colorado doesnt recognize Arizona I would still have to go through the schooling and testing. What should be my next step?

Accepted Answer

Yes,

I verified that as of Feb 1, 2009 Colorado will accept partial recognition from other states and Arizona qualifies. As current salesperson is Arizona, you need two qualifications:

1. 2 years of licensure, either active or inactive

2. Pass the state portion of the Colorado exam

If you don't have 2 years history, you must:

- Take48 Hours in Colorado Contracts and Regulations

- 8 Hours in Trust Accounts and Record Keeping

- 8 Hours in Current Legal Issues

- 24 Hours in Real Estate Closings

- 32 Hours in Practical Applications
- Pass entire Colorado broker exam

most of the info you need will be on this website:

http://www.dora.state.co.us/real-estate/brokerlicensing.htm

You want to go to the tab: Candidate Bulletin PSI on the left to sign up and take the state portion of the exam.

I hope this helps - Good Luck !
