Answer

The following are the typical connections used.

W - Heating

G - Fan

C - Common 24v

R - Power 24v

Y - Cooling

For the thermostat you would connect these wires to the terminals stated above. On the furnace side there should be a terminal strip as well. Please tell me if this answers your question.

Answer

Can you tell me where you see this red light

Posted by Kenton Guidry 283 days and 23 hours ago.

Answer

Most new furnaces have a blinking light to indicate what type of problem you are having. There is also a reference to which this light indicates on the unit. More times I see this reference located next to the wiring diagram. You do not have to pay more. I am happy to help you untill we have this figured out.

Answer

ok, can you see anything on your unit that shows what the blinking code stands for? Also can you set the thermostat so that it is calling for heating?

Answer

If you are refering to turning the heat up, simply set the temperature to a higher setting. Make sure you set the thermostat to heat.

the red light goes on for a short time then turns itself off

what should we check next

no code gets shown

this is a new unit

do you think we missed something in the installation

Answer

If the status code does not show any error, I would check to make sure that you have your thermostat set for heating and that the heating is set high enough to turn on your unit. Please response for further help.
