Question

Our church has 7/12 pitch, size 60x100', want to install ceiling fans for energy management (heat). Want to determine fan size and placement for maximum efficiency. We currently have 6 fans, 3 on each side, approximately centered in 2 rows in the middle from the center. They have 21" blades. Is that adequate, or should they be replaced with fans in the center of the peak? I have found no one that has any answers. Everyone just wants me to buy their fans.

Answer

Sounds like 6 fans at 42" total blade width should do the job how high are your ceilings though that could make the difference between them working or not working but iv'e seen these work as high 18' or so

The ceiling peak is 37' and the current fan blades are at approximately 24', half way down the ceiling.

Answer

That should work for you and make quite the difference since the heat is at ceiling

I had been advised by someone that we need the fans in the center rather than where they are currently. I take by your response that you are satisfied where they are currently. Is that correct?

Accepted Answer

As long as they are pulling down from the main ceiling it will work
