Question
Thanks again for your response. You said to bypass the defrost board and jump 24v to the compressor contactor and I did. This makes the contactor pull in and start the compressor and fan. How do I know it's not the defrost relay that is the problem instead of the timer board before I spend $120 on a new board?

Answer
The board may be good and you have a bad high pressure or low pressure safety.
Answer
hello this is scott, can you trace 24 volts, yellow/compressor contactor , and common, does your low voltage from t-stat going outside go to the defrost board, but you don't have the 24 volts leaving the board, the defrost relays job is to switch reversing valve and energize heat strips. check that and let me know if that is what you have[ comp contactor] that should be yellowlow volt going into board but not coming out ,thanks
