I plan to go to small claims court for past rent due. I have dates of rent paid, but no documentation.

I also want to show what this person earned.

Small Claims Court rules in Illinois do not provide for subpoenae duces tecum (subpoenae for documents). You may only subpoena a witness. In your case, you will need a copy of the lease -- if there is one. Your own testimony will establish when rent was not paid.
