Question

What kind of sock do you suggest and should I put ointment on it before I but the sock on.

Answer

You can use any childrens sock as a base, but I don't recommend any ointment at all. Just a piece of gauze over the wound, the sock as a base, then tape or some other wrap around the sock to hold it all in place, taped to the fur with surgical or other medical tape, if possible.
