Thanks for the information. It definitely sounds like he has a urinary tract inflammation. Often times this is not really infection really but can be. It is called Feline Lower Urinary Tract disease. The problem you get with male cats is that they can develop a urinary obstructon from this and get very sick very fast. It is often fatal if not treated right away. If you place your hand around his abdomen and feel a very firm baseball or softball sized mass, or if he is painful when you do this, he is most likely obstructed and needs to get to the nearest veterinary emergency clinic immediately. Be careful to not get bitten when you do this. If you do not feel this mass and he is not painful, he is probably not obstructed but can become so at any time. In that case, I would get him into your first first thing in the morning to get an exam. They will most likely run some bloodwork and a urinalysis. They may want to get some x-rays to rule out bladder stones as well. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Hope this helps.
