if i was 20 at the end of 2008 and didnt make more than $1000 and my son and i lived with my mother all year can she claim me and my son as dependents or can i claim my son beings i made $1000 dollars all year if that? and what is the minimum return for an infant?

Hello megan,
As long as your income was less than $3,500, then your mother may claim both you and your son.
You may also claim your son if you wish, and would qualify for the earned income credit.
Both you and your mother could not claim the same dependents, so you will have to decide who takes the exemption, but you are both qualified to claim your son, and your mother may also claim you as a dependent if you do not file your own return and claim your own exemption.
