Answer

Hello,

I am sorry your kitty is having trouble. All of the symptoms you are seeing indicate that there may be an illness present in your kitty that will require medical attention. As cats age, they are more prone to systemic illnesses like diabetes, kidney disease and hyperthyroidism. The symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea, increased water consumption, increased urination, dehydration, weakness, weight loss, muscle wasting, poor hair coat, changes in appetite, changes in behavior and increased vocalizations. In order to determine which illness is responsible for your cats symptoms you will need to have him seen by his vet for an exam, blood and urine tests and radiographs as cancer is also a possibility at this stage. Cats instinctively hide illness and it is alarming that your kitty is showing such obvious symptoms. I am worried that he is extremely dehydrated and may need to be hospitalized and put on iv fluids to make him feel better. Please try to have him seen sometime today so that he can get some help. The longer he goes without medical attention the more difficult and expensive it will be to make him well again. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. If this has been helpful, please hit the green accept button. Good luck with your handsome man.
