Optional Information

2000 Pontiac Grand Prix 3.8L

Already Tried:
Having trouble getting the ball joints in properly.., I
replaced the control arms, but the ball joints will not seat properly, they are or seem to be at a weird angle and rub up against the inside of my brake disks. I also replaced the struts, hubs, and tie rod ends.
Is there a proper sequence for seating the ball joint into the steering knuckle and than torquing the castle nut and than doing something else...?

Every thing seems to have fit together proper, but the ball joints are sitting at angle and rub up against the inside of the brake rotters once I lower the car and drive it a bit. Is there a squence of putting it back together, I believe I followed the GM shop manual correctly but the thing jumps back and forth from control arm to ball joint to this and that.
What I did was mount the control arm to the frame and than tried to seat the ball joint into the knuckle and torque the castle nut but it just doesn't look right and as I said it rubs on the brake disk

Answer

Okay. You need to install the ball joints into the knuckle and torque them before installing the rotors. If the rotors still hit then there ia a good possibility that they gave you the wrong hubs. If the hubs have the wrong offset this can happen.

Of course you have to do the ball joints before you install the rotors, you can't really even get to them before removing the brake calliper and its support and the rotors.
The hubs came from a company that does nothing else but support and sell parts and equipment for my car and cars like it.

Is the control arm hitting the rotor mating surface?

The only thing rubbint is the ball joint, against the brake fotor.

Answer

Okay. There are only two reasons why this would rub now. It is either the hubs as I mentioned or it is the wrong ball joints. If the ball joint shafts are too long ot too large in diameter they will not insert into the steering knuckle far enough which will allow them to rub on the rotor. There is not anything else that would have caused this rubbing.
