Question

I have a CNG Toyota, 2001. I drove to station one quarter full, filled up with CNG and then attempted to leave. Car acts like its empty of gas, it turns and turns but never catches fire and starts. My gauge though is now showing full but is also a showing a flashing dot which means the gas level is low. i attemepted to put CNG again inside of car and the car registered full. If this were a regular car I'd diagnose fuel pump issues; what do you say.

Optional Information

2001 Toyota 4 cyl CNG

Already Tried:
Just turned the key. It has never had any problems and I drove into station with plenty of Gas still in the vehicle. Now as I try to leave, the tank says it's full yet the warning blinking light is blinking which means its not full. Again when I tried to fill it again, it was already full.

Accepted Answer

Hi there,

There are a few possibilities for such a condition.

1. Faulty CNG/fuel switch. Try wiggling the wire connectors and see if the level indicator lights moves up a few notches.

2. Faulty pressure meter. Check the pressure reading on the meter, should be showing more than 150.
