Question

My baby Pomeranian chewed up one of the little packets they put in show boxes ( I assume they are mildew/mold retardants?) Is there an antidote I should give him?

Hi,

Don't worry, those packets are not toxic. It will make him thirsty, as it's a 'dessicant', meant to absorb dampness/humidity and therefore keep the shoes dry and prevent mold/mildew.

For the moment, slowly feed him two slices of burnt toast, cut into small pieces, and this might help to neutralize the dessicant. Watch for any vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, difficulty breathing, lethargy, or other unusual symptoms. If he doesn't seem to be acting himself, definitely bring him to the vet, immediately, for evaluation and treatment.

I hope all will be well with your little furry boy!
