Question

I recently installed an HP scanner G3110. When the solution center pops up and i try to use the online fax it comes up with a box that says I need to install a file Fax_CDA. Where can I find such a file?

Talking to HP and they say it is a windows problem. Tried to put in my XP operating disk but could not find the file. Tried to google it and eventually came up with you.

Is it asking you the location of a file, named, Fax_CDA.msi ?

It says that the feature that I am trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available. Insert the Fax_CDA disk and click OK. Use source 1. I have tried the software that came with my HP all in one office jet 4315v and my HP scanjet scanner but neither disk seems to wotk with this request. Windows is trying to to configure the Fax_CDA but does not ever seem to get there.

When it asks you to find the FAX_CDA file, did you insert your CD and look into the folders?

 

Can you check this:

Please insert your CD

Click on start menu

click on find (file and folder)

select your CD drive as location

 

into the search term, type FAX_CDA

 

Let us deeply search your CD rom to find the FAX_CDA file.

 

When done, please let me know.
