Question

My yorkie(GeeGee)is 11yrs. old. She was a rescue yorkie from a breeding home. She never had puppies/but was kept in a traveling crate for her first two years of life. She has pancratis. Just 3 months ago she had to have a lot of her teeth removed because of a very bad infection that had gone into her sinsus cavitys. Four weeks ago she had a bad bladder infection. She is now back at that stage. She's moaning a lot not drinking alot. When she's laying next to me she seems to be having quivers(like shes in pain) I can't get very far from her because she starts yelping! I've lost my job and the last vet bill was $165.00. Is there anything that you can recommend that I can get myself? She's still very active when she gets outside(she loves to chase the squarrels). If I can't find a home cure that I can administor myself,I may just have to have her put down.

Answer

Thanks for writing in,

I am very sorry to hear about your girl. IF you feel she has a bladder infection, unfortunately there isn't much you can do at home. Because so many people are having financial difficulties right now, the last thing we want is your pet to suffer. If you call your veterinarian and explain to them what is going on with her and that you simply cannot afford to come in, chances are they will be happy to dispense to you some medications for GeeGee in hopes that she will get better. If not, then you can always have her seen by a vet at a later time. I hope this helps you and most importantly GeeGee. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
