model g851 sc plus miele, it is two years old. the intake drain light flashes and turns off the dw when in regular wash cycle. I have checked the supply line cleaned all filters and pump. when just the top solo cycle is engaged it runs through the whole cycle with out turning off, however the intake drain light still flashes at the end of the cycle.

hmm ok well then unfortunately the top cycle is not finishing either whether you realize it or not.

I believe your problem is going to be related to the water shift mechanism. There is a mechanism that is attached to the circulation motor that directs the water to different places--- if it's working when you select top rack only the shutter is probably stuck in that direction. Unfortunately, the only way to replace this slide mechanism is replacing the entire pump and motor assembly which is quite expensive.
