Question

I have small hard red lumps about 2mm in size which have developed on my hands over night. they are mainly in clusters around my knuckles and sides of my fingers and my fingers feel swollen. They are a little painful to touch and ever so slightly itchy. What could this be? Thanks

Hello

is there redness around bumps?

Do you see any point like marks in center of these bumps?

Is it only on one hand or both?

How old are you?

What other medical problems do you have?

Is there any possibility of insect bites?

Is there any color change when you press on bumps?

Please explain more

There is redness around the bumps

No points in the centre.

On both hands

I am 35 years old

No other medical problems, have just recovered from flu virus

No possibility of insect bites, I have suffered insect bites in past and this is very different

Accepted Answer

thank you.

is there any possibility you can attach this bumpy rash pics please?

It is possible it could be some dishydrotic eczema, urticaria allergic reaction like contact dermatitis( most probabley),etc but if i could see the pics, it will help me great deal instead of throwing arrows in the dark.

Please let me know if you can do that.

When you say redness disappears when pressed upon it, it makes more like a urticarial or contact dermatitis bumps.

Meanwhile if these are itchy, clean it , then after it is dried, apply hydrocortisone cream liberally .

Also hydroxizine 25 mg every 6-8 hours will be helpful to relieve the itch. or benadryl( drowsy) or claritin 10 mg will also be helpful .

Best wishes
