Question

i live in a 2 story house. in the basement is a Crane Gas Boiler. It looks to be at least 25 years old. The radiators throughout the house are not getting hot. There is one that is not even warm. At best they get alittle more than warm. What can I do to get more heat? 2 months ago I replaced the coupling on the pump.

When you replaced the coupling on the pump did you remove the pump from the water lines? Did you allow air to get onto the system?

Does any of the piping get hot away from the pump?
Does the pump seem to turn as it used to?

You say before you changed the coupling all was well with the heat but now it doesn't get hot. How hot is the boiler set for? Has anything changed since this system worked well?

There is a control on or near the boiler that controls the temperature of the water. When you find this contorl there should be a dial in it like a thermostat. Notice where it is set and turn it up and down and make sure where it clicks on and off. The high click is on and the low click is off.
