we have a potterton netaheat profile boiler. No apparent problem until today. The pilot light was lit, but it was not heating up at all, completely cold. No hot water or heating all day. It switched itself off after the other half had a look at it. He switched it back on, it's not coming on at all now

don't know what a blower sound is, but there is no sound at all. The boiler won't spark up at all, doesn't sound as if it's even trying to spark up.

thermostat is calling for heat. Where would the main power breakers be?

It was lit, but it's gone off again now, we have been fiddling with the programmer. Programmer is set to run, but nothing happening with boiler, pilot light not coming on, (I assume that flame that we can see through the inspection panel is the pilot).

The pilot was on for hours during the day today, but the boiler remained cold.

we have a room stat, and it's turned right up at the moment. The programmer is a honeywell st7100.

Now this morning, the flame is on, the boiler is making the sound it did when it was working, but it is cold.

Hi

it sounds very much like the exrenal controls are not calling for heat. This would indicate either the programmer, roomstat or the wiring is faulty. I think you need to call an engineer to check this by bypassing the controls and firing the boiler .

Hope this helps

Alex

If its not broken dont touch it, when it is broken write down the connections BEFORE its in bits on the floor!!
