Ok 12 hours ago is too long ago to try to remove the cd bits from his stomach. They have likely passed into the intestines by now. You could try feeding him a bulky meal to try to cushion the way through the intestines (a couple pieces of moist bread is fine).

Unless he ate the 1/3 of a cd whole, in which case it may still be sitting in his stomach.

The concern with ingestion of something cd bits is that they are certainly not going to dissolve in his stomach or intestines. They will have to pass on their own (or be surgically removed). If the pieces were chewed and are small enough, they may well pass through in his stool over the next 1-2 days. If they were quite large pieces, they may still be in his stomach or struggling to pass through his intestines. If this is the case they can cause an obstruction or perforation of his intestines. Some signs you will want to monitor for are:

Decreased to absent appetite
Abdominal pain (hunched back, stiff sides, reluctance to walk or move)
Vomiting with blood
Repeated vomiting or vomiting without producing anything
Straining to defecate

If you think your dog swallowed the 1/3 of a cd whole, there is a chance it is still in the stomach. If this is the case than you can take your dog to the emergency vet and have them use an endoscope to retrieve the piece from his stomach (without having to do surgery).

Please let me know if I can be of further help. I do hope everything passes without event.
