Answer

Hello and thank you for your question.

The phone number you provided appears to be an unlisted land-line in or around Islip, NY.

Unfortunately name and address information on unlisted Islip numbers is not publicly available, so it is not going to be available anywhere online without a fee.
You mentioned that you already tried http://www.intelius.com
Intelius claims to have the address information - for a fee - but I'm assuming you've already tried paying them for that information and found that they didn't actually have what you needed?

Other reverse info sites also claim to be able to sell you the name and address information for this number, such as:
http://www.reversephonedetective.com and
http://www.getphonerecords.com
but I am skeptical, as all of these reverse lookup companies tend to get their information from the same sources, so if the information you obtained from Intellius was unsatisfactory, I doubt you'll get something different from these other sites...

If you need this information because somebody from this number is unlawfully harassing you, I suggest that you report this to your own phone company and to local authorities.
For any other purpose it may be impossible to find information on this number, since the number's owner has paid to keep this information private.

I hope this information is helpful, and if so that you will please click the "ACCEPT" icon as this is how I get paid for answering questions.
Feel free to ask additional related questions.
Thank you.

I filed a police report against the unknown caller - I now seek to find out who placed the call.I also called my phone company. I called a P.I. AND THEY WANT $350.00 TO START A CASE

Answer

Hello and thank you for the followup.

You've taken the right first step in reporting the caller to the police.
You can also contact your own phone company and make a report with them. Some phone companies are more cooperative and fast-acting than others about this type of harassment. But all are capable of putting a "trap" on the line to track these calls.
You should also keep a log of the dates and times that you receive these calls.
If you've been able to determine the number's phone service provider, through Intellius or another source, you can also contact that phone company and lodge a complaint.

I am providing a link to a site with a tip list for dealing with unwanted calls:
http://www.privacyrights.org/fs/fs3-hrs2.htm

I cannot advise you whether or not to hire a PI to start a case, as I do not know the nature of these calls, their frequency, their affect on you, etc. Only you can make that judgment call.
All I can tell you is that, because the number in question is unlisted, you will most likely not be able to find the name and address of the caller on any online source, if Intellius, etc. have already provided unsatisfactory results.
The police of course should be easily able to obtain this information.

I hope this information is helpful, and if so please click the ACCEPT icon as this is how I get paid for anwering questions.
Thank you.

I KNOW THAT SOME PEOPLE HAVE DATA BASE ON UNLISTED PHONE NUMBERS- THATS WHY I PUT IT OUT AS A QUESTION.

THE ANSWER I SEEK IS THE PERSONS NAME AND ADDRESS

Posted by MJ 313 days and 11 hours ago.

Answer

Hello. Yes, I do understand that the information that you're looking for is the name and address.
The problem is that the databases of unlisted phone numbers that you mentioned are the same databases that the sites I listed above use to provide this information (Intellius, and so forth).
All of those sites do indicate that they have name and address information for the number that you provided - but you indicated that you already tried Intellius and didn't get satisfactory info.
In some places, if a person pays for an unlisted land line number, it prevents the name and address from appearing in these databases.

The problem there is that all of those sites use the same databases. So, if you already paid one for the name and address but were unable to obtain it, you're unlikely to get different information from all the others.

What information was Intellius able to provide when you paid them? Is the problem that they did not provide ANY name and address for that phone number, or was the problem that the name and address that they provided were incorrect?

They gave no name and address for that number. I will get the persons name, when the police get on the ball. I spoke to the DA today and I will make the police follow all leads.

The caller said he was going to kill me. I am in the public eye, I am a whistle blower of sorts. I have been getting hate mail and threats for about two years. I got a call on the 9th of jan. and the number was not blocked its hooked to a fax machine. I hope to find out who made the call.

Answer

Clearly in this situation the police should be able to identify from whom the call originated, and this is your best bet for getting the name and phone number - and more importantly in dealing with and stopping these threats.

Since there was no name and address available from Intellius I believe it is unlikely that any of the other reverse lookup services will be able to provide this either, since as I explained above they all use the same databases of information. In some places, if a person pays for an unlisted land line, it prevents the name and address from appearing in those databases and the information is generally unavailable to anyone except law enforcement and the phone company.

I'm sorry that I cannot provide the name and address. I see that you previously posted a similar request here and that another expert also could not provide any source for this information other than those you have already tried. I understand that this is frustrating, but I do not think that anyone else here or on other sites will be able to do this either, for the reasons I explained. You've done the right thing in getting the DA and police involved I think they are your best hope of eventually obtaining this information.
Good luck!

I HAD THE NUMBER TRACED BY a tracer service it cost me $16.50
the call came from a 7-11 store in islip ny ( pay phone)

Answer

Great! I'm happy to hear that you found someone who could trace the number for you.
Be sure to report that information to the police handling your case - though since the call was made from a public place that's of course not going to make it as easy as if someone had made the threatening calls from their home phone.
Good luck!
