My daughter loves elephants and for her 7th birthday my wife and I would like to surprise her with en elephant ride. Is this possible in the UK?

Hello and welcome to Just Answer!

I'm sorry ,there is no place in the UK that offers these rides!

This is the only place I could find that offers elephant rides!

Hi there,
I came up with the same answer within 30 seconds myself as it was one of the first items that appeared on my Google search. I'm hoping that you can spend enough time on this to give me a more comprehensive answer. There are plenty of elephants in the UK, is there a legal reason why there don't seem to be any rides offered? If not, some zoo/safari part should be able to offer this.

Actually I did research this for a couple of hours off and on, because I wanted to be sure, of the answer!

The reason they don't offer the elephant rides is because even tame elephants have been known to turn on even their owners that have worked with them for years and killed them. You need to have a special insurance in order to have the rides, and most are not willing to purchase the high cost of the insurance.

I'm sorry, I did not clarify this in my answer, when I gave it!
