MY DAUGHTER HAS TAKEN KAVA 2TABLETS 4 TIMES A DAY FOR ABOUT A WEEK. SHE HAS NOW TESTED POSITIVE FOR BENZOS. HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET OUT OF HER SYSTEM BEFORE IT IS A CLEAN TEST.? WEIGHT OVER 200 LBS. ALSO HAS A BLATTER AND KIDNEY INFECTION. LIVER IS NOT WORKING VERY GOOD . ALSO HAD GALL BLATTER OUT. IT HAS BEEN 4 DAYS ALREADY AND IS STILL IN HER SYSTEM. SHE IS IN A DRUG RECOVERY HOME AND NEEDS TO KNOW NOW BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT QUITE BELEIVING HER. LINDA

Hi and welcome to JustAnswer.
Although I do not know exactly how long it will take to purge the system of Kava I can tell you that if her liver is not working well she should be aware of some of the claims that Kava may intefere with liver function and may produce toxins in the liver.
It is very difficult for you as a parent to sit by and watch, feeling helpless to a point, when your child is in recovery and you just want her better. If she has been taking Kava without the knowledge of the center they may have good reason not to be believing her. If they did know she was taking the supplements then they should be aware of the side effects.
The only way to have a clean drug test is to follow the protocol of the recovery process in every way. She would have needed permission to take any supplements especially Kava since it is quite controversial and affects the liver, which may already be compromised by alcohol/and or drugs.
As hard as it may be you have to let the center do it's job and your daughter do hers, which is to follow the rules of the center. I hope her drug test is clean and she gets to remain there, but do please advise her not to take anymore Kava pills especially if her liver is not functioning well. Good luck to you both.

ALL I WANT TO KNOW IS HOW LONG KAVA STAYS IN ONES SYSTEM. NOT TO BE RUDE BUT I KNOW ALL THE REST OF THE INFORMATION GIVEN. WHEN YOU TAKE POT, I KNOW IT STAYS IN YOUR SYSTEM FOR WEEKS OR MONTHS. SO ALL I NEED TO KNOW IS HOW LONG KAVA STAYS IN ONES SYSTEM. THANK YOU

Kave remains in your body from 12-24 hrs. Taking Kava 4x a day will keep it in the system until she stopped. Once stopped it will take up to 24 hrs. Hope this helped. Dr. KeaneDr.Keane39829.5998883912
