Question

on a turbo 400 trans there is an upper and lower fitting for cooling lines, which one goes to the passenger side of the lower rad tank.

Welcome Jerry. The line that goes from the front fitting of the transmission is the one that goes to the lower fitting on the rad and the op line goes back to the rad or to the aux cooler if your truck has one.

the trans fittings are upper and lower not front or rear- one is above the other the radiator tank fittings are not upper or lower they are either left( drivers sie) or right ( passenger side) and are both on the lower radiator tank . this is a turbo 400 in a 65 impala ss with a 383 stroker engine (350 block)

When the fittings are on the bottom of the radiator it doesn't make any difference which way they are hooked up.
