Question

Alienware had me send back my computer to replace the motherboard and now says that they do no know when they can fix it as they are out of stock. it has been 30 days now. I asked for a refund but they said no. I need help

Dear Mr. Rezendes,

I hope you are doing well.

As per our phone conversations, this email is a confirmation of the cancellation/new order process that I mentioned to you.

You will need to place a new order on our website for the same amount or higher than you paid for the original order. For example, the cost of your order was $1919.85 and the new one should be the same or higher.

Please keep in mind that you will only be entitled to use the amount mentioned as credit for your new order as long as all the items that were included with the system are returned; this does not apply to open software as software sales are final.

Also, the shipping and taxes you paid for your system will be credited back to you.

After the new order is linked, I will submit a cancellation request so a return order can be opened and register the cancellation of the old system. This procedure may take up to 2 business days.

Once the order is opened, I will then provide you with a FedEx prepaid label, which will be sent to you via email in order for you to ship all of the components that were included with your computer back to us. Please make sure all items are properly packaged in order to prevent any shipping damage.

We will then wait for the package to arrive at our Miami facilities for disassembly and cataloging of the components. This process may take 5-7 business days once the system is received by our Reverse Manufacturing department. Once the inventory check is complete, the funds of the order will be available for the new order. If there is a price difference that goes above the original price, then this would need to be covered by you before the order would be considered paid in full. This process may take 2-3 business days.

Please keep in mind that the estimated shipment date for the order will not be the one shown on the website as it does not include the time frames for the shipping, cancellation and funds transfer processes.

Their return policy sounds fairly standard for the industry. I have no easy answer. They are agreeing to repair---but can't. Suing an internet company is like searching for a needle in a haystack. Their home office could be in Russia for all we know! Please try to keep escalating this up the line in their organization. Under general rules of law if they cannot repair, they should replace.
