Hi there preowned,

What type of writ are you interested in filing. What State are you located in?

I am in North Carolina, and my dogs were seized under a warrant for investigation, the reason listed being that they are not microchipped and the papers filed with Buncombe County Animal Control. They bit a neighbor previously, and are under a protective order, but they have been chipped, and the papers are filed with the county. The papers say I have 10 days to file a "writ". It doesn't say what kind.

Answer

Hi again,

Here is a link to the writ: http://www.nccourts.org/Forms/Documents/248.pdf

You must first, however, get in touch with the clerk of the Superior Court in Buncombe County and ask whether you need to obtain a judgment before filing the writ.

Here is the phone list at Buncombe County: http://www.nccourts.org/County/Buncombe/Directory.asp

The civil clerk is the 2nd number from the top.

Best of luck to you.

M. Strisik, Esq.
