Not an Employment Law Question?
Question
I quit my job and am owed money for my last week of work. I've demanded the pay per the statutes of MN, have contacted the Dept of Labor and Industry, and have been notified directly by my former employer that they will not be paying me for the work because I refuse to submit myself to a phone call with them (undoubtedly allowing them a chance to vent their frustration in my leaving???). Anyways - I've exhausted all possibilities - what can I do next? Small claims court? My former employer is also saying that I was a contractor. I'm not. I was an employee listed on their org chart.
