when you said internal unit, is it a split type? what are you using it for now? as an a/c or as a heater?

it is a heating and cooling system there is no problem with the unit heating only with the cooling. yes it is a split system with the main compresor outdoors and the head with fan inside.

Answer

hello,

thank you for the response.

the tech told you that it is typical of humid wheater. i beleive different.

if you are using it as an airconditioning unit now and not as a heater,
it could be a dirty evaporator coil. dirt would accumulate and would clogged the drain , once the drain is clogged, water would overflow and drip inside your room.

in this case, water would be dripping constantly.

another thougt would be that the evaporator is icing up and once the compressor stops, then it would start to drip as the ice thaw. this is an intermittent drip just like what you are experiencing.
