Question

The flame went out in the furnace,, so we thought it was an igniter,,but the repairman replaced a wire, and got it going. It ran for 1 day. Now the flame is out again. It has to be more than just the wire?

the wire did not appear to be bad, the repairman held it up and showed us,, I think he just replaced the wire, and then got the burners going again.

Accepted Answer

Well sounds like he did not do his job thus he could have prevented the dreaded call back. But what does this furnace do when you try to start it

Answer

Do you know if you have standing or automatic pilot

we have a pilot, it is usually lit,, it must be automatic?

Answer

If it is always on that would be standing pilot but by what i'm reading I think your is automatic lighting. So lets try to fix this do see a pie like round object that has rubber or vinyl hose attached to it also maybe two wires by the induced draft fan

ya know, I think i will just leave this where it is at.... I am not technical enough to start digging into it,, just looking for ideas on what else may be wrong.. someone just told me if the vent stack was full of snow the furnace would shut itself off?

Answer

If you have located this switch clean the hose and the ports that they attach too so that air can be sensed correctly

OK Then call for service again and good luck
