Answer

Hi,
The first thing I would do is make sure he doesn't have any intestinal parasites, like roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, coccidia, or giardia. I would take a fresh stool sample in to your vet for a fecal float. Even if it comes back negative, I would still deworm him with a broad-spectrum dewormer (Drontal or Panacur).

If the diarrhea continues, as a vet I would likely try a course of antibiotics, such as metronidazole. This will help if it is Giardia or a bacterial overgrowth and inflammation. At the same time, I would put him on a completely different diet--one with a different protein and carbohydrate source than what you are currently feeding. Actually, the first diet I would try would be Prescription Diet I/D, a bland, easily digested diet. Once the stool firmed up, then I would gradually mix in the diet you want to feed long-term.

So make an appointment with your regular vet for a stool check and probable medication. It may take a couple of tries, but I'm sure you will get the diarrhea under control pretty quickly.

Good luck! Let me know if you have other questions.
