Answer
hi, with the systems on these cars getting more and more technical, and with strong focus on fuel economy and emissions it proves harder to do any 'usual' enhancements to see decent power gains, unless you intend to spend serious amounts of money at performance specialist in items including aftermarket management etc - then in which case you would be better off just changing it for the next higher performance factory model.
The only thing you may be able to find, is an engine control unit remap, this will just alter the computers base map to give better performance as oppose to economy, whilst keeping everything in its operating spec. There are various companies out there which specialise in 'remapping', however with your vehicle being fairly new, it maybe harder to find an already developed, tried & tested map.
Most of the time diagnostic equipment cant pick up on these remaps, but if it goes in for any electrical system repairs, i.e a new control unit fitted, the entire car will then be updated on the software service station, possibly wiping your engine unit remap and reprogramming it with the latest bmw version.. then your map is lost.
