Question

Im going to replace the driver's side mirror on my 2001 civic. I found a replacement part, but I don't know how to install it. Are there any instructions for installing this part?

It's 2 door, and the mirror is powered.

POWER MIRROR/MANUAL MIRROR REPLACEMENT

2-DOOR

 

1. Lower the door glass fully.

 

2. Carefully pry out the mirror mount cover (A) by hand in the sequence shown.

3. Remove the door panel (see DOOR PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).

 

4. If equipped with a tweeter, pull the plastic cover (A) back as necessary, and disconnect the connector (B), then remove the mirror mount cover (C) with the tweeter.

5. On power mirror model: Disconnect the connector (D).

 

6. While holding the mirror, remove the nuts securing the mirror, and remove the mirror (manual mirror model).

 

7. On power mirror model: While holding the mirror, push in on the connector clips (A), then push out to remove the mirror (B). Take care not to scratch the door.

8. Install the mirror in the reverse order of removal, and make sure the connector is plugged in properly (power mirror model).

 

DOOR PANEL

Removal & Installation

Remove inner handle.

Disconnect inner handle rod.

Disconnect electrical connectors.

Remove regulator handle (if equipped).

Remove speaker cover.

Remove screws under speaker cover.

Remove mirror mount cover.

Remove screw from arm rest pocket.

Release clips holding panel to door.

Disconnect electrical connectors.

Carefully lift door panel up to remove.

To install, reverse removal procedure.
