Accepted Answer

Are these on the intake plenum?

If so, I would just use the original plenum on the new engine.

the main computer plug doesnt match

i never seen 2 or 4 plugs, and if so what do i do in that situation?

Answer

The PCM has 2 electrical plugs.......newer ones have 4 electrical plugs. That's why I was wondering what the difference is when you say they don't match.

what is the difference between pcm, ecm, and bcm? are they the same thing?

Answer

PCM is Powertrain Control Module

ECM is Engine Control Module........these 2 are the same it is just different terminolgy for the same thing.

BCM is Body Control Module. This is completely different and controls all the body functions of the vehicle.....lights, power locks, alarm system etc etc.

so for the wiring difference what do you suggest i do. the ecms are diff and one extra plug? and what do you think it would cost at a shop as for i dont think i can do any swappin of ignition stuff?

Answer

I can't speculate on what a shop would charge you because there is nothing in the labor guides, for this kind of swap, to base a quote on. Your best bet is to ask that question of the shop you intend taking this to.

HI I AM WORKING ON A 2000 CHRYSLER LHS 3.5 HO. THE ORIGANOL MOTOR IN IT BLEW A ROD BEARING. SO I HAD BOUGHT A MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION FROM THIS LADY THAT HAD THE SAME VIN LETTER "G" I BELIEVE. tHAT MOTOR AND TRANNY WAS OUT OF A 2001 CHRYSLER 300M. sO FAR I HAVE HAD ALOT OF PROBLEMS WITH THE SWAP. THE COMPUTER FOR THE 2001 HAD 4 PLUGS AND THE COMPUTER FOR THE 2000 HAD 2. SO WE SWAPPED ALL OF THE OLD ELECTRONICS OFF THE 2000'S OLD (BLOWN) MOTOR. IT STILL DIDNT FIRE. SO I TOOK IT TO A CHRYSLER CENTER, A NEW CAM AND CRANK SENSOR. AND A NEW COMPUTER + LABOR $1500. AND ALL THEY TOLD ME IS THAT IT WASNT TIMING. SO I TALKED TO A EXPERT HERE ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO. HE TOLD ME IT WAS THE TONE WHEEL ON THE CAMSHAFT. HE SAID IT WAS DIFFERENT AND THAT IT HAD TO BE CHANGED TO FIRE. WELL I CHANGED IT AND HE IS ABSOLUTLY RIGHT THE WHEEL WAS DIFFERENT (ALL THE TIMING MARKS). BUT IT STILL WONT FIRE. PLEASE I NEED A HARDCORE TECH FOR THIS POWERPLANT SWAP JOB. THE VIN ON THE 2001 300M IS vin # 2c3ae66g62h144670. AND THE VIN ON THE 2000 LHS IS vin # 2c3hc56g9yh413090. This is all the information i have please someone help!
